The Movement - Movement Signatures - Movement Work - Why I Write

READ ME

From our boss;

It was once discussed many years ago about moving WritersCo to a more 'user-friendly' environment, however we cast it aside hoping that things would get better on WritersCo. I have been thinking is it the volunteers, the members or WritersCo itself that restrict possibilities. I was silly to think the first two, and tried aimlessly to make things better focusing ideas on those areas. BUT, now I realise, you can't have a sound community unless you have a sound, easily managed and understood community. If I was a new member I would expect to find communication with others much more simple, than compared to Heddate Communication Hell (Although there is a book in there somewhere - Dummies and Smarties guide to using the Heddate Forum System, and liking it)

Other reasons to move -
WritersCo costs a minimal amount of about £20, which I have paid each year since the launch of WC and introduction of the shout-box to run.
yet any ad revenue goes to Hedda to support WC and ther other Hate-it communities. This money should go to us!

I suggest we move!

In fact, I think we should move to encourage new members joining and to give US greater control over OUR community.

However I know we have all put a lot of work ito WritersCo - so we all need to sort out what we want to keep, save things that we don't have anywhere else - delete things we don't want to leave behind etc.

Once everyone has had time to act on this, WC will come down, in its place will be a page holder for the community, but the shoutbox will be there, so we can all communicate.

Any questions email me.

Okay people, this is our shot to make Writersco what it needs to be, I need all of you on this, I want every little critisim, anything you like about other site, give us example, ramblings, ideas, suggestions, hate mail, just give us what you do and don't like about writersco.

The List, shove your thoughts on here, now go! Ash.

Dear reader:

This is [Ash], that's my name as well. I am going to try and get Writersco (WC) back on her feet. If you can't tell she's take a pretty big fall and it's of all of our faults. We were all like yeah WC! than abandonded her for some stupid reason or another.

For one fact, authors are NOT lazy. Have you ever written a novel? I've written four so far (non-published, I have no intrests in that now) and it was hours and hours of work and editing and than thinking of the plot, deciding that isn't good enough for anything makes you rewrite the entire end.... It is not easy. I am far from lazy, I spend most of my day galavanting around trying to get my college career together with FASFA and getting accepted into one of the hardest programs in my state. Well, that's all done with and now I am here to focus on you. I am putting all my normal Neopets energy (they're so cute.... *cuddles*) into making WC work.

I don't want to be alone in this, because I can't do this my self, it's completely impossible, but I can rock the boat. All I am asking is horribly horrible simple and I want you to here me out because this is all you have to do, I swear, and we can work to save writersco. I want you to join the movement and do these simple little things.

A) Log on at least once a week. (not a hard thing)
B) Try to put something up once in a while, like once every two to three month, just something. Poem, short story, a really funny paper you wrote in english class (like I plan on doing soon).
C) Don't think negativly on WC, the more you think bad on it, the more you forget it and don't log in don't respond to that message, things like that.
D) Remember this is a community, we all need to work together to acheive.

If you agree to this please edit this page and sign your name, put 'I support the movement' and a link back here in your house and actually remember A-D, remember them, this will come in handy, this will save WC.

2009-06-13 [Tyr Zalo Hawk]: According to Congress:
We need national holidays celebrating baseball stars.
Congress needs another private jet and underground spa.
The economy is fine.
The government is doing its job.
No memeber of Congress is aware of any illegal activities they might be involved in.
The Midwest doesn't matter.
The Constitution of the United States of America is a piece of paper that they don't even TRY to follow, half of the time.
And the only reason New York and California don't control the the entire process is because there's a limit on how many congressmen America has.

So... I'm going with 'same thing nowadays'

2009-06-13 [Ash]: hahahaha.... ahh... That was refreshing. But you know, at 1mil, they stop the search for a person... I think that's mean.

2009-06-14 [Angel In Red]: *glares at Tyr*

2009-06-15 [Tyr Zalo Hawk]: Well, even if it is, you've gotta think about it. I mean if you've spent $1 Million searching, where is that money coming from? And how much searching have you done? $1 Million isn't exactly just a day or two, it's a lot. The longer you have to search the lower the odds are that they're alive, typically.

Sure, people get lucky and whatnot, but that's generally not the case. It's either spend money and use up resources looking for someone they haven't found already, or hope they've managed to survive and continue to, because there's typically not much else to do at that point.

2009-06-15 [Zadius]: Hmm, I think this would make an interesting debate for one of the forums rather than here, but anyway... My opinion might be a little, well... unstable haha like the rest of my personality but surely if you've already spent a million dollars on trying to find someone, you should continue until you do or at least find evidence of their demise... otherwise hasn't the money been wasted anyway??? I don't know, my Russian logic just says to me why look in the first place, just draft in a replacement from the gulags hahaha.

2009-06-15 [Tyr Zalo Hawk]: =P Nice one, but ya, we should definitly hit this up in the forums. If for no other reason than to get them a bit more active. *Forum attack!*

2009-06-15 [Ash]: Then attack the forums already! go! All of you, shoo!

2009-06-16 [Kuzco]: Well, I was gonna talk, but I've been shooed. The nerve! *leaves*

2009-06-16 [Ash]: It's only to the lazies that won't go to the forum... Don't worry Kuzco.

2009-06-16 [Angel In Red]: ...Was I part of the shoo? I wasn't even like, talking before.

2009-06-16 [Kuzco]: everyone is part of the shoo! The shoo affects all in its cosmic radius!

2009-06-17 [Angel In Red]: Omg, Tyr. This dudes more annoying than Evo. Never thought I'd see the day. Oof.

2009-06-17 [Tyr Zalo Hawk]: Evo? *tilts head* Never heard of Evo...

And Kuz, what happened, man? I went to Kuzcotopia last week, and it's "Closed Until Further Notice"? What's up with that?

2009-06-17 [Kuzco]: Terrorist attack. Do not worry, the culprist will be caught and exterminated.
...
I mean, they will receive a fair trial, an inparcial ruling, and then they'll be exterminated. Please return in one week's time, we will have a new slide!! And a special bathing area where you can BATHE IN THE BLOOD OF YOUR ENEMIES!!!

Kuzcotopia, an utopia of fun!

2009-06-17 [Tyr Zalo Hawk]: Sounds like fun *nods* I'll definitly be back.

2009-06-17 [Kuzco]: Awesome. Don't forget to bring money, lest you be decapitated ^_^

2009-06-17 [Tyr Zalo Hawk]: Decapitated? Me? I'm afraid you forget that you're talking to a member of the Get Into Kuzcotopia Without Getting Decapitated Club. I'm a Lifetime Member.

2009-06-17 [Kuzco]: OH! My apologies. Members of that club only get lynched if they don't bring money. Trully sorry for the mix up *scratches head*

2009-06-17 [Tyr Zalo Hawk]: It's fine. I can understand the mistake. I mean, I haven't been in a while, and it's hard to recognize faces of people you haven't seen in less than 5 minutes. So we're good.

2009-06-17 [Kuzco]: Alright, by the way, I just noticed something! your middle name is almost Halo. :D I like you now, here's a get-in-free coupon!

2009-06-17 [Tyr Zalo Hawk]: Er... sure *won't tell Kuzco that he actually hates Halo... for now*

I hate Halo. The videogame. Don't mind angelic halos or solar halos, but Halo is terrible.
